Baizangama Takuo Nakamura
Born as the second son of Tea potter Baizan Nakamura, Takuo began his career as potter in 1978 under the guidance of his father. Since late 1980, he started submitting his works to exhibitions, blending the Kanazawa’s Suki culture with overgraze inlay technique developed by his father Baizan. Since 2000, he has been expanding and developing related fields between vessels and spacious contexts, pursuing in a bold but refined taste of his own interpretation of the deconstruction and reconstruction of “Rinpa school”movement. His artworks are collected at Kanazawa 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, Craft Gallery, Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY and others.
