Kamide Choemongama was founded in Nomi, Ishikawa Prefecture in 1879, at the birthplace of Shoza Kutani, who revived and restored Kutani porcelain. Based on the history of porcelain that began in the Eastern Culture, Kamide Choemongama has carefully produced Japanese tablewares piece by piece by hand. Their creations take the art pieces into another journey towards classical yet fresh and dynamic world of Kutani ware. Utilizing deep and vivid indigo dyeing and ancient five colors of Kutani (blue, yellow, purple, navy blue and red), Keigo Kamide, the sixth generation, has been involved in many projects and developments with craftsmen, and has always being able to introduce Kutani ware to the present age with interesting ideas.
