Labo Shirakiku: Ceramics Studio Irodoriya / Sumika Kawamura

The building that used to be a dyeing studio was renovated and opened as “Labo Shiragiku” in April 2019. This is a unique compound that was designed to contain spaces like office, gallery, Bar, and Ceramics Studio. It is an interesting complex where different industries live together to connect all Kanazawa’s culture – food, sake and crafts into one. At Ceramics Studio Irodoriya, you can see Kutani-yaki artists working or conducting workshop from time to time. Taking part in their workshop program, you can gain a vast understanding of the authentic Kutani porcelain, and a chance to hands-on pottery painting.
