Nousaku Co. Ltd.

Takaoka has been well-known as the town of casting. It is said that the origin was dated back to 400 years ago when the second lord of the Kaga clan, Toshinaga Maeda, invited seven craftsmen with casting skill to promote Japanese traditional craft. Nousaku was founded in 1916 and was mainly manufacturing Buddhist ritual objects, Japanese tea sets and vases. In 2017 after the new company premises were completed, Nousaku is now well equipped with factory tours, casting workshop program, a cafe serving menu featuring local ingredients with tin-casted tableware, and finally an information desk offering uniquely edited tourist information of Toyama. Nousaku is well known to many tourists, and has been bustling with many visitors locally and worldwide till today.
