Osada Seishijo is a hand-made paper mill factory producing Fusuma paper and interior wallpapers in Echizen, Fukui. The company started as a subcontractor factory of Hosho paper (a traditional, high-quality kozo paper), and gradually transformed to be specialised in the production of Fusuma paper. They have inherited the technique of the hand-made “Hiryu” technique that was established from the previous generation in the early Showa period. While keeping this tradition, Osada Seishijo wishes to persue “A life of washi that continues to evolve with the times” by making the best use of the characteristics of each of the washi materials.
